The LPA Conference Management Committee, District 3, and the MarVAlous Chapter are thrilled to welcome everyone to celebrate LPA’s 67th year at our National Conference in Baltimore, Maryland! It has been 35 years since we have graced Baltimore with our presence, and Baltimore has been waiting for our return since the summer of 1989. Our setting is the amazing Marriott Waterfront in beautiful downtown HarborEast Baltimore, from June 28th – July 5th, 2024. The start of our week begins with getting to know your new city during a vibrant tour of all things Baltimore, including Fort McHenry and other Charm City landmarks. Later that evening, we experience Camden Yards, the home of the Baltimore Orioles, where we will watch the AL Eastern Division Champs play against the Texans. Then, don’t miss our Opening Celebration this year (Aquabash); we will start off the week discovering one of the most popular Baltimore attractions – the National Aquarium, where sharks and dolphins will entertain us at our private event. Every day and night has something incredible going on…plan on coming for the entire week! During the days, check out the many sights this area has to offer – from visiting Annapolis, Maryland’s capital, to exploring our Nation’s capital (DC!) with its many monuments and museums. Board the Key Anthem Water Taxi and experience the Inner Harbor by sea and choose what sights you want to explore.
Don’t forget to celebrate our community, creativity, and cultures at LPA’s Fashion Show, be amazed at the always entertaining Talent Show, and dance and laugh the night away at the Star Spangled Celebration Awards Banquet. For the very first time, we have a huge treat – we will be offering a one-time only special event about the life of Benjamin Lay, performed by the award winning actor, our very own Mark Povinelli, past LPA President.
As always, there are the wonderful workshops, receptions, meet & greets, MAB individual meetings, kids room, events for CITM (tweens), teens, young adults, OWLS, and the Barty Lounge to make your conference experience the best ever.
